A subscription website for new business
A subscription website for new business
Industry: Education
Jodi from the Busy Teacher’s Club has over 10 years teaching experience and was looking to launch a subscription service to provide monthly resources for teachers. We discussed the concept together and a membership focusing on developing teachers professionally, personally and in the classroom soon evolved – designed to support teachers every month, with a range of resources, guidance and support.
When discussing the platform to host the resources, we looked at various online options but decided a website would better showcase Jodi’s experience, the benefits of the subscription, and allow a better user journey for the members. It also allowed us to link to a range of products which Jodi and her team sell separately via thebusyclub.co.uk.
A subscription website (sometimes referred to as membership website), includes an area with restricted access. This means that people have to be signed in as a member to be able to access the content. There were a few challenges with this, as we needed to ensure members only had access to resources uploaded after the day they signed up. We also needed to lock down the resources so they weren’t easily shared with non-members. This was achieved with a plugin, which we recommended following extensive research and testing to ensure it met all the client’s needs. The overall design was a collaborative project, using vibrant colours in line with Busy Teacher’s Club social media channels and product range.
The result was an easy to navigate website that works well on both desktop and mobile. The resources are easy to download each month via a member login area, and we have also created a shop for one-off purchases.
In addition to the website, we continue to support Busy Teacher’s Club with updating members when new resources are released (via email) and upload all new monthly emails, making amendments to the website to keep the content fresh. Jodi does a great job with promoting her resources via her social media channels and as a result, she has a number of new members signing up to the subscription service every month.
